One of the New Zealands most unique spots for campsites and accommodation, the Port Waikato Holiday Park is Māori-owned and operated. The lovely property houses an array of accommodation options – namely motel units, cabins, and camping sites. Above all, we cater to varied tastes and budgets. Furthermore, our site has all the facilities you should need. You’ll find a large fully-equipped communal kitchen, hot showers, a laundry room, barbeque areas, a whānau TV lounge, and outdoor table tennis.
Additionally, tamariki (kids) will love the playground and pedal carts for hire, an unhindered space to play and explore!
We like to think the best kai (food) is cooked upon the BBQs, however, Sundays Coffee Shop is a quaint little coffee spot at the Sunset Beach carpark for a caffeine fix. Open during the warmer months from 10 am to 2 pm, Wednesdays to Sundays while you take in the views of Sunset Beach. Food lovers can tuck into toasted sandwiches and freshly baked muffins while admiring the mezmerising surroundings.
If you didn’t catch your own fish, grab a delicious burger and fries from the Sunset Takeaways Food Truck. Located right outside the entrance of the Port Waikato Holiday Park, it offers hot food from 4 pm to 7 pm, Thursdays to Sundays.
For convenience the local Wharf Store has essentials you might need but you’ll also find ice creams and other goods for sale at reception. Grab a cold drink, hire a fishing rod or find a souvenir with a warm welcome from our team.
